Ok as this Mod is going to be set in England, we have to recreate England in Oblivion (asking around for landscapers at the min) so we won't be able to fit all of England in as it'll be too big so this is where the tough decision is going to come which part do we have?

For me london stood out, i mean its such a major city- but then again it would be hard to re-create Rolling Eyes

Yea London is a difficult one as its fairly large with a large river running through it, i'll see if I can find some old maps dating from the time to see just how big London was back then.

Actually taking a closer look at this map (as it allows you to zoom in) the amount of houses churches etc all compact together, might cause major lag

Yeah Neutral
Well i think it souldnt be totally discontinued, as it is so major but you have got to take the practicalities of it, and how realistic you actually want it.

Maybe we don't have London but only a part of it. Hear me out, we could do a string of quests which take you to London, like in Oblivion where you go through the gates into a totally different map, perhaps we could do something like that

I hear what your saying, and done well would be good.
Have you ever played fable 2?
Because a similar system of travel was in place where you walked about 10 meters down a path and you were suddenly 10miles away, and it spoiled the game for me. so there could be some problems with this system. But again a boat trip or something similar would work.

Or the imperail city in oblivion- Its split up into seperate cells if im correct, this would help with some of the lag issues.

And there is a possibility that the PC could not have to go to london and gets orders from there?

Yea I was thinking of something like a trip in a boat or a ride in a carriage or something, but splitting London into like Districts like in the Imperial City in Oblivion could work aswell. So we still have to decide which part of England is going to be represented

Okay a couple of ideas
Idea
The red ring would include london and was my original idea- It would mean a fair bit of detail could be put into one area, but there wouldnt be any major battles.

The second idea is to have all three areas interlinked by various travel. Im not sure how feasable this idea is though...

It would depend on whether you wanted the main character to fight any major battles...

Yea we have to have atleast one major battle, but the thought of interlocking each area with travel is a good idea but whether its feasible or not is another question

if were haveing the whole of london i say there should be 1 or 2 modders dedicated to the task of just london as it is pretty big. the river wouldnt be that hard to create, the land scaper... would need to lower the ground to under sea level, of raise the sea level, tho im not sure the later is possiable. but the river would create an opiton for boat travel around the city makeing it possiable to have parts of the city in different cells causeing no lag.
lastly i think there should be parts of all the countries involved with boat travel from and to them.

Great suggestion I think this will be the way to go, so we might be able to fit the whole of England in then? also we need modders and Landscapers lol

also, i forgot to say, i think like oblvion each city should have its own feel, im going to see if i can create some thing new for the exterior of a building by changinh only the textures

And i would happyly work purely on london if that came to the case Wink

Yea, but would this just be retexturing Oblivion buildings? as some will fit the bill but we need buildings built from scratch

Hmmm we could probably use some of the Vanilla buildings but were going to need alot of buildings built from scratch, like if we do do London there's things like the Tower of London, Windsor Castle etc

oh yeah of course unique buildings are gonna have to be built from nothing, maybe we could request some to make just one building without recruting them if it ever comes to that.
