 Size of Britain vs. Cyrodiil

Hey everybody, I have a question. How big is England going to be in comparison to Cyrodiil?

(a little messy, i know)

In this picture, England plus Scotland is about 1/4 - 1/3 of the size of Cyrodiil. Should Britain be larger? Smaller?

What do you think?

Much larger, as it would seem quite silly to say be able to walk from London to Scotland within a few minutes lol

Ok...

First:

there is map size limit that makes Construction Set crash (not sure wheter it crash CS only after you open heigthmap editor or when you load .esp/.esm with this map) This limit does not apply fror the game. it is limit for CS only. For all I know this limit is 4x4 quads (quad=32x32 cells)
There is workaround of some kind...
As you can see here it works MERP has huge map conteining 92 Quads

each sqare here represents 1 quad

This is map of cyrodil:

This is what I propose height map to be:

A)

Map containing 32 quads, landmass cca 150% of cyrodil


B)

Containing 19 quads, landmass cca 100% of cyrodil


C)

Map contains 15 quads, landmass cca 70% of cyrodil

Personally I would go with map A becouse then towns will not be too closee to each other and it will not be too big to populate it.

Second:

this is what I think we should do:

Step 1: create region map (something like this)
Step 2: create Heightmap (each quad separately and then merge it via photoshop/GIMP)
Step 3:create Landscapes (add grass textures, trees houses ...)

Third:

if anybody else tried heightmaping in photoshop/GIMP or some heightmap editor you need to export it as 16 bit grayscale where black is 0 and white is 65535 and 4096 is water level dimensions are 1024x1024

Map A looks good. Map C is definitely too small, and B , although bigger, is still too small. A looks just right to balance between having people too close and not enough people.
